Telangana's government has changed land market valuations and stamp duty rates, which will take effect on Thursday.

The lowest value for agricultural lands has been set at Rs 75,000 per acre. 
The existing values in this category have been changed by 50% in the lower range, 40% in the middle range, and 30% in the top range.

Similarly, the lowest price for open plots was previously Rs 100 per square yard, but this has now been raised to Rs 200 per square yard. The fundamental value of open plots has been reduced by 50% in the lower range, 40% in the middle range, and 30% in the upper range.
The earlier lowest price for flats or apartments was Rs 800 per square foot, but that price has now been increased to Rs 1,000 per square foot. This category has seen a 20% increase in lower levels and a 30% increase in higher ranges.

Even if the slots were reserved and payments made before, all registrations that take place on or after Thursday will be liable to the increased charges.
